Health and wellness have always been a big priority for me my entire life, and will continue to be a priority in 2024! Over the years, I’ve developed some different wellness habits that have ACTUALLY made a difference for me, and now I feel like I have such a solid routine. I’ve tested out so many products and tried so many different things and finally feel like I’ve got it down! If you’re someone who wants to focus on their health and wellness this year, I put together all of the wellness habits I’m bringing into 2024. Most of these things are practices I already do, but there are a few things I want to get back into this year!

It might seem overwhelming at first so my biggest piece of advice is to start with a few things. It doesn’t have to be from my list! Find a few healthy wellness habits you want to try and stick with them. Once they become second nature, add more to your routine. It’s all about finding what works best for you, but I hope the things I do can inspire you or be a good starting point. Let’s get into it!

Taking Care of My Skin

Infrared/Red Light Therapy

Infrared has been a game changer for my skin, mood, sleep, and overall health. It is 100% natural and helps with cell regeneration. I do this for 10-15 minutes per day (no more than 15 minutes). I will usually ice-roll my face while I do this. This helps depuff your face and helps shrink pores.

Barefaced Skincare Products

I switched to Barefaced skincare several years ago and my skin was forever changed. I have tried everything and while other brands helped with my acne, nothing seemed to completely get rid of it.  I have barely had any breakouts in several years and I credit that to switching to Barefaced. Their products are very gentle on your skin and super high quality.  Because they are high quality they are an investment! I decided personally that I would rather invest in my skin than spend my money elsewhere. I am so happy I did!! You can check out my “Skin Journey” story highlight on Instagram for weekly progress photos of my skin. As far as my skincare routine goes, you can find all of the details HERE.

Lymphatic Facial Drainage Massage

At night before I go to bed I will do a 3-minute lymphatic facial drainage massage using my favorite facial oils. I love the Primally Pure facial oils – code TALLBLONDE10 for 10% off or the herbivore lapis facial oil. As an oily skin girl, these oils DO NOT clog your pores or make your skin more oily. The oil absorbs into your skin leaving it GLOWING the next morning. I will use my fingers for my facial massage. Gracie Norton on TikTok has an excellent tutorial!

Bone Broth

Bone broth helps cleanse the lining of your gut which in return helps revive your skin from the inside out! My recipe is basically beef bone broth (or chicken bone broth if beef is too strong of a taste), ginger, paprika, and pepper heated. It helps with inflammation and has 10 grams of protein in a cup!!!!

Dry Brushing

I do this dry brush on my body every other day before shower. I will take a brush and rub it over my entire body (dry). Dry brushing has a lot of benefits like exfoliating your skin, helping with blood circulation, and lymphatic drainage. Primally Pure has great tutorials and guides on their site.

SPF

Being out in the sunshine has its benefits but I also am trying to be intentional on protecting my skin when I know I am going to spend an extended period of time out in the sun. I try to stick with a mineral SPF! I apply my Barefaced sunscreen underneath my makeup and I reapply with this resetting powder that is a mineral sunscreen.

Moving My Body at Least 30 Minutes Every Day

Some days I just can’t get a full workout in. I have learned since being a mom that it’s not about the length of time I have but instead how I use the time that is given to me. 10 minutes of moving my body is better than nothing! I try to work out 5 days per week but I also am very intentional about taking walks on days where I feel like I haven’t moved much. Walks have helped with my mental health so much!!

Deep Core Training Every Day

Ever since pregnancy, I have realized how important our deep core is. I struggled with a bunch of hip and lower back problems pre and during my pregnancy so I made a promise to myself to prioritize strengthening my deep core over doing just ab workouts. Moves by Madeline App has a ton of Deep core workouts! I also use her program for my strength training every day! You can get a free 7-day trial with my link.

Replenishing My Body With Minerals it Needs Every Day

LMNT Electrolytes

Drinking electrolytes has been a life changer for me. It has helped directly with my digestion, bloating, swelling (when I was pregnant), energy, and overall health. I didn’t realize how much our bodies are impacted when we don’t prioritize replenishing them with the proper minerals. The electrolytes I use contain all of the necessary minerals and are a clean option!

Magnesium

I cannot stress enough the importance of taking magnesium every day! Most people are deficient in magnesium and your body cannot process vitamin D properly and do many other vital processes without magnesium. Magnesium helps with your overall health but it is widely known to help de-stress, muscle cramps (including period cramps), better sleep, blood sugar levels, and so much more. I mix 1 tsp of  Moon Juice Magensi-OM in my water every day after work or right before bed. This brand uses clean ingredients and has worked the best for me!

AG1

This is a clean and 100% nontoxic nutritional drink that is a multivitamin, multimineral, probiotic, and prebiotic that helps support your gut, hormones, nervous system, energy, hair skin and nails, and overall health! Right now you can get a year’s supply of their vitamin D drops and 5 travel packs with this link.

Beef Liver Tablets.

Beef liver has so many vital nutrients that can impact our whole body health. I take these every day! I love the Ancestral Supplements brand.

Taking Care of My Oral Health

Our oral health is directly connected to the rest of our health and is linked to so many things! I really want to focus on taking care of my oral health outside of just brushing my teeth every day.

Tongue Scraping

This takes 15 seconds and I do this first thing in the morning before I do anything. It helps with breath, removes bacteria which helps improve overall health, activates organs, better digestion, prevents cavities, and boosts immunity.

Floss Every Day

When you don’t floss you miss around 35% of your tooth’s surface. Flossing is so important and can help prevent diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and even some cancers. It is also important to get a floss without PFAS (which are carcinogens). Cocofloss is completely non-toxic and has ZERO PFAS.

Oil Pulling

This is something that I stopped doing years ago but want to bring back again. My goal is to try to do it a couple of times per week. All you do is swish organic coconut oil in your mouth for 10-15 minutes. This helps with bad breath, plaque, inflammation, gum health, and fights bacteria!

Creating Margin in My Evenings to Unwind My Brain

I leave the phone on airplane mode at night + no cell phone 1 hour before I go to bed and 1 hour after I wake up. Putting my phone on airplane mode helps reduce EMF exposure. I also want to avoid my phone during the first and last hour of my day to reduce blue light exposure and to help my brain unwind.

Reading

Reading is one of the most underrated things! I find that when I read I cannot focus on anything else. Reading helps me close out my work brain and forces my mind to relax.

Magnesium

I already touched base on this earlier but Magnesium has been proven to help de-stress and calm the mind. I love Moon Juice Magensi-OM!

Tea

I also love drinking some caffeine-free tea with raw honey before I go to bed. My current favorite is blueberry chamomile.
