Now that we’ve moved into the spring season, I’ve been getting so many questions about spring hiking! I know you all enjoyed my post on the best winter hiking spots, so I thought it was time for me to share the best spring hiking destinations that I’ve been to. Hiking in the spring is always so beautiful, with new blooms, gorgeous weather, and overall great conditions, it’s pretty ideal! I’m so excited to share our love of hiking with Blake as she gets older – something about hiking in the spring always gets me inspired! Whether you’re new to hiking or a seasoned pro, you can’t go wrong with any of these spring hiking destinations!

Arizona

You beat the heat! It is always warm in Scottsdale year round but keep in mind it can snow in Northern Arizona. April is the best month to hike because the northern parts of Arizona are usually above the 60’s while it’s still in the 80’s in the Phoenix area. Another reason I love hiking in Arizona in April is because this is when the wildflowers begin to bloom!

Where to Hike

  • Sedona
  • The Grand Canyon
  • Superstition Mountains
  • Lake Powell
  • Antelope Canyon

Utah

So gorgeous and SO worth it but just be prepared for the crowds! Utah in the spring has become a major hiking destination (and for good reason) so maybe try and avoid the Spring Break groups if possible.

  • Arches National Park
  • Zion
  • Bryce Canyon
  • Lake Powell

Hawaii

It is a great time for whale season and the weather isn’t as hot! You really just can’t go wrong with a spring hiking trip to Hawaii.

Where to Hike

  • Oahu and Maui have a lot of hiking options

Tennessee

One of the most underrated places to hike! I would say head here toward late spring. The views in the Smoky Mountains are truly unmatched.

  • Cummins Falls State Park
  • Fall Creek Falls State Park
  • Burgess Falls
  • Rock Island State Park

Hiking in the spring in California varies and it really depends on where you go in the state, but overall you can’t go wrong!
