Why I use Native Deodorant:

If you have been following along the  last few weeks on my Instagram, @tallbondebell. I opened up about a health scare that made me switch to Native deodorantI found a cyst in my armpit that I later found out by my doctor that was caused by my old antiperspirant.  There have been recent studies that have shown that the aluminum and parabens found in anti-perspirants can be harmful to your body and can cause cysts.   My doctor recommended me to switch to a clean deodorant.

After trying out various brands of clean deodorants I had no luck.  I didn’t like the residue left on my clothes and I felt like they didn’t work.  After asking around to friends who made the switch to an aluminum-free deodorant, all of them recommended Native deodorant.

Native Deodorant is both aluminum and paraben free. After almost a year of using Native deodorant, I have had zero issues of a gross residue and after going through a 2-4 week “detox” period, Native keeps my smelling fresh and protected from odors.

What is the “detox” period?

When you switch to any natural deodorant you go through a detox period the first few weeks.  During this time your body is adjusting to working on its own vs having an anti-persperant work on its own.  You are basically reteaching your body to sweat properly. During this period you made see a small increase in odor, but it is only temporary.  What I did during this time is carry around a small container of perfume and would clean my armpits and reapply Native regularly.  After my body adjusted, I have had zero issues with odor!

My favorite scents are the cucumber mint, coconut vanilla, and lavender and rose.  I also carry their travel size deodorants for whenever I go on trips.  I love how compact they are and they save me room!

I gradually want to start switching out my old products with natural alternatives.  After seeing the positive results from Native’s deodorant, I want to now switch over to their  body wash, bars of soap, and toothpaste too!

I linked below some of Native’s most popular products! EVERYTHING on Native’s site is 20% off with code TALL20.  Enjoy!

  1. It’s seriously so scary the amount of harmful ingredients found in regular deodorants. I hate that for you that you found a cyst and thank God it wasn’t anything worse! I haven’t tried Native yet but I do make sure to use a more “clean”-friendly based product for deodorant and have for a little over a year now. I wish I was more mindful about this sort of thing for longer and I can’t believe how many years I went using terrible products on my skin without considering the ingredient label. But thank the Lord we’re aware now and can spread awareness about the dangers and the safer products available to us! Loved this! <3
