With the summer winding down and fall quickly approaching, Michael and I had the amazing opportunity to take a staycation at Indy’s new IronWorks hotel.  I immediately fell in love with this industrial-inspired boutique hotel. The natural lighting, distressed wood-paneled walls, floor to ceiling windows, tufted leather couches, and the amazing cologne smell compliment the industrial atmosphere.  Pet’s are even welcomed at the front desk with a dog bowl with treats. Next time we’ll definitely be bringing Denver with us. After receiving a kind and prompt check in, we picked up our bags and began to the Founder’s suit. We felt as though life had paused and our weekend getaway had begun.

As I walked into our suite I think my jaw dropped to the ground.  Our suite was bigger than our first apartment when we first got married.  IronWorks did a superb job at making us feel welcomed and at home in our little getaway. We didn’t have to use any lights because of the natural lighting and private views. (a blogger’s dream for the perfect photo opp).  Check out their Instagram story highlights to see what I’m talking about.

What really sealed the deal was our own private balcony.  The view overlooking the city in the distance was breathtaking.  We picked a good night to stay because the sun was glistening and the air had a crispness to it that gave me all the fall feels.  What I loved most about this balcony was the cozy fire pit. I immediately ran into the room and grabbed the nearest cup of coffee and my knit to take full advantage of the fall like weather.  (OK, this may have been a little dramatic, but I was just taking advantage of my recent fall fashion purchases). Michael was able to connect his bluetooth on his phone with the porch speakers. This place was the definition of romantic.  I felt like a princess in a castle.

I was curious to see how the bathrooms were styled as the rest of the hotel was an industrial styled aesthetic.  The bathrooms looked like something out of Pinterest. They were white, clean, and crisp and the shower was basically a mini spa.  At some point in the future when I get a new bathroom, I’ve already decided that this will be my inspiration.

There are also a wide variety of restaurants on site: Provision, Rize, and Blue Sushi Sake Grill.  If you want a good steak and view, Provision is your first choice.  Blue Sushi Sake is our favorite sushi place in town. If you order your meal before 6:30PM you get most of the sushi plate half off! (I highly recommend their cherry bomb sushi rolls). Rize is a quaint,  wholesome breakfast cafe where we ate in the morning.

After getting an amazing night’s rest in our king sized bed we decided to hit up Rize, a breakfast/brunch restaurant the next morning.  With the fun patterned tiled walls, pops of color, and the fresh smell of organic ingredient I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed. We decided to take our breakfast up to our room and have breakfast in bed.  It was the most relaxing morning!

Michael and I had truly an amazing time! We’ve never taken a staycation before and it was just what we both needed.  It was nice to get away for the weekend and explore the parts of Indy that we’ve never seen before. We even got some shopping in at my favorite mall nearby, The Keystone Fashion Mall.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in the Indy area, Ironworks is on the top of my list.  It would make the perfect getaway for newlyweds, anniversaries, and even parents who want to get away for the weekend.

I would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to Ironworks for hosting us. We love you from the bottom of our hearts and are already looking forward to our next staycation.

Another HUGE thank you to my husband for taking all of my photos.  He has worked so hard this past year helping me by supporting my dream.
