I’ve been getting so many requests for things to do in Indiana over the summer and I’m finally putting everything together in one spot for you! Over the years of living in Indy, I’ve tried so many fun activities and different things to do that I always look forward to when the summer rolls around! Whether you live here and just want to try something new or are traveling to Indy and want to fill up your itinerary, I’ve got you covered with this full list of my favorite summer activities. From the farmer’s market in Carmel to national parks to fairs and amusement parks, there is truly something for everyone and any age! Keep reading for my full Summertime Indiana Guide and let me know if you want me to go into more detail on any of these places and activities. You’ll also find a list of my favorite summer restaurants you just have to try! Enjoy!

Things to do in Indy During the Summer

Carmel Farmers Market

  1. May-September, Saturdays 8am-11:30 am
  2. Winer Market October-March, Saturdays 9 am-12 pm
  3. Other Farmers Markets to try: Fishers (pet friendly),  Noblesville, Zionsville

Indiana Dunes National Park

Kayak in Turkey Run State Park

Kayak in the White River in Noblesville

We did this several times per week the weeks leading up to my birth with Blake! We have our own Kayaks but you can rent through White River Canoe Company.  We would launch off at Potters Bridget and get off right before downtown Noblesville.  Takes about 45 minutes or you can book through White River Canoe Company and they have a special place you can get off at with parking!

Tube Down the White Rivier in Noblesville

Johnson County Fair

I honestly love this more than the state fair. Smaller but they have great food and not as much of a hassle to get into.

Must try food:

  • The beaver tails
  • Lemon Shakeup
  • Chocolate Milk Shakes
  • Ribeye Sandwich
  • Chicken Saute

Indiana State Fair

Pick Berries/Sunflowers at Spencer Farm

Seasonal – check the schedule for the season!

Explore and Hike Koteewi Park

This is a hidden gem if you want to just get away in nature for a few hours.  There are trails and rivers that go through this park.

Listen to Live Music and Wine Taste at Urban Vines

Symphony on the Prairie at Conner Prairie
