I cannot believe hiking season is upon us! Spring is one of my favorite times of year because the days are starting to get longer, the flowers start to bloom, the cloudy days become fewer and further in between which makes me itch to get outdoors!!

Last year during this time we were in Arizona for a hiking trip.  Because we had Blake this year we decided to keep it more low key this spring and save more of our hiking trips in the later spring! We have a few planned for the next few months and I cannot wait to take you all along! I am mostly excited for Blake to experience one of Mike and I’s favorite hobbies!

With all of the hiking we do it is very important to have the right type of gear.  Especially in the spring when you can experience all four seasons in a day! One of the first ever hiking brands I started buying from was Merrell.  In fact, my first ever hiking boots were from Merrell and I still have them to this day! I love the long lasting quality of Merrell’s products and I have hiked everything from my backyard to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado in my Merrell hiking shoes.  I have been looking for a good crossover hiking shoe that isn’t your typical chunky hiking boot, but is more lightweight, yet still supportive and sturdy. Something that I can wear on more everyday hikes.  I recently got the Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX® and I am super impressed!! The traction in the soles are super grippy so I don’t have to worry about slipping on trails.  They are also super lightweight and the best part is that they are GORE-TEX® waterproof!! If you are someone who wants a little more ankle support I recommend the  Moab Speed 2 Mid GORE-TEX®.  These are a little higher in the ankle which is super convenient for certain types of terrain.

Below are two types of outfits I would wear on a spring hike.  I like to pack some layers because you never know what weather could come.  If I plan on going on a shorter hike I love carrying a sling bag like the Crest 8: Sling X Unlikely Hikers

Thank you Merrell for collaborating with me on this post. Just like everything I post, my opinions and thoughts are my own.
