If you’re heading on a trip to Maui this spring or summer, you’ve come to the right place! We just got back from our trip to Hawaii and it was incredible–I feel like we did so much! While I shared a bit of this in my newsletter already, I wanted to put it all together in one blog post for you guys to be able to come back to. I put together all of my recommendations for Maui below to help you plan out your trip! Where we stayed, where to eat, activities, and more. Have so much fun on your upcoming trip! 🙂
WHERE WE STAYED
Andaz Maui in Wailea
Everything was a 10/10. We loved the area. A walking path along the beach. The pool was amazing, we pretty much had the beach to ourselves. The complimentary breakfast was delicious!! All the food you can think of! We saw whales from our room every sunset.
ACTIVITIES
Snorkeling
We were told by locals to skip the tours and go straight off the beach. Friends recommended Kapalua Bay and just buy gear from Walmart! (It’s pretty cheap).
Hiking at Waihe’e Ridge Trail (4 miles)
Road to Hana
Banana Bread at Aunt Sandy’s
Bamboo Forest
Waimoku Falls via Pipiwai Trail
Red Beach
Tip: use the Shaka app or Gypsy app to tell you where all the stops are! They usually cost under $15. This is a MUST!!
Whale Watching Tour
Luau
Haku Lei (floral crown)
If you want a fun real haku lei (floral crown) I am getting one done from Haku Maui! I recommended calling and ordering ahead! Makes for a fun picture.
See the sunrise at MT Haleakala
A must!! Must make reservation ahead of time!
FOOD
The places I starred (*) are spots I HIGHLY recommend making reservations at!
*Monkey Pod
*Star Noodle
*Mama’s Fish House (most popular restaurant in Maui. Book months in advance)
*Merrimans
Baya Bowls
Paia Coffee
Olowalu Juice Stand
Wow wow lemonade
Breakfast at Kihei Cafe
TRIP HIGHLIGHTS
Snorkeling off the coast
I would skip a tour and just go on your own! You will see people along the beaches snorkeling. The area by the Andaz resort was incredible!
Road to Hana
This was our favorite day! A must!! I highly recommend downloading a Hana tour in the Gypsy app. It makes the drive go by fast and you learn about all the stops!
Hiking Waihe’e Ridge Trail
Our favorite hike of the trip! I MUST for all of my hikers!
